AC Gold help Fife Council to reduce energy consumption in schools
AC Gold has enabled Fife Council to turn essential maintenance work in to a cost cutting exercise by installing energy saving devices in two schools as part of the routine electrical works carried out over the summer holidays.
The electrical contractor worked with Fife Council to replace existing light fittings with low energy alternatives as well as a number of other initiatives including the installation of sensors which automatically switched the lights on and off when motion was detected.
The move comes as the council looks to balance its books with its annual budget expected to be cut be £120 million in the next 4 years.
AC Gold’s Managing Director Alasdair Campbell explained,
“The rising energy costs in recent years have forced many organisations to examine potential energy saving opportunities and with the increased financial pressures now on the public sector, this is now becoming a key priority.”
“We have established extensive experience and expertise in carrying out energy saving measures having helped numerous organisations in both the private and public sector to cut their energy bills.”
