RHI degression announced 1st July 2015
Non-Domestic RHI Degression
The small biomass tariff (up to 199kW) will be reduced by 25% for installation accredited on or after 1st July 2015 which will reduce the payment per kWh for Tier 1 to 4.47p and Tier 2 to 1.17p.
This is as a result of higher than expected uptake on small biomass installations, the non-domestic target total for 30th April 2015 – 29th April 2016 (forecast £296.8 million) has now reached 100%, leading to an additional 5% reduction to the small RHI tariff.
Boiler sizes above 199kW are unaffected by this announcement.
|Existing Tariff||New tariff (installations accredited on or after 1st Apr 2015)|
|Small Commercial biomass||Tier 1: 5.87p/Kwh||Tier 1: 4.4p/Kwh|
|Tier 2: 1.56p/Kwh||Tier 2: 1.17p/Kwh|
Domestic RHI Degression
The domestic biomass tariff will be reduced by 20% to 8.93p from 1st July 2015.
This is due to forecast expenditure on biomass (£27.63 million) being above its ‘super trigger’ and ‘super growth trigger’ for the quarter ending 30 April 2015.
