Data Networking

Data Networking

More and more buildings and home are becoming networked, allowing devices such as televisions, home entertainment systems and computers to access digital media on a local network or the internet.

Networking with physical data cables produces the fast and reliable network speeds without the problems associated with wireless signals such as slow speed, intermittent or weak signal.

AC Gold Electrical Services Ltd can install computer CAT 5 or CAT 6 data networking cable and network points throughout your property.

Cat 5 is the slowest of the networking cables and is no longer recommended for installation. It can handle 10/100 Mbps speeds (Fast Ethernet) at up to 100 MHz bandwidth.

Cat 5e (Cat 5 enhanced) is currently the most commonly used data cable in new installations. It has been designed to greatly reduce crosstalk (interference). Cat 5 can handle 1000 Mbps speeds (gigabit Ethernet) at 100 MHz.

Cat 6 is a marked improvement over Cat 5e. It’s supports up to 10 gigabit Ethernet at 250 MHz. Cat 6 cable has an internal separator that isolates pairs from each another for improved cross-talk reduction.
